This half-day course is designed to support Adults Supporting Learning who are not qualified teachers. Participants will have opportunities to share and discuss issues as well as analysing and challenging their own practice in order to develop action plans.
Course objectives
- Have an awareness of physical education in the National Curriculum and have an awareness of key issues in physical education philosophy
- Appreciate the need to find out about school policy and rules pertaining to their involvement
- Be aware of methods that can be used in organising and planning physical education Be aware of the need for the health and safety of young people and safe coaching/teaching practice
- Be aware of further opportunities for personal development in relation to their role in school and the purpose and functions of self review in raising standards
- Have an awareness of how learning through PESS can contribute to whole school improvement.
